Default Rocky Creek Development Old Bridge NJ

Hello!

I wanted some information on the new home development called Rocky Creek in Old Bridge, NJ. Is this a good area? How would the commute to downtown manhattan be. We love the homes they have there but what to know more about the area? schools, taxes, types of people etc etc

TIA

I know someone that lives there, taxes are on the high side but compared to other towns in the county prices are good. Takes at least 90 minutes door to door to commute to downtown manhattan as the main way is by NJ Transit bus.

Not too bad, but far from being in the top tier school districts of the state. According to this link, its ranked #211 out of 316.

There is a sign up on Route 516, but not sure if it's going to be a mosque or another type of temple.

Old Bridge has middle of the road schools. They're fine. They're not among the best in NJ, but they're certainly not the worst.

Schools are pretty average; nothing to rave about, but very easy going on the kids and the parents (if that's a good thing). You could check out all the grades and school statistics on schooldigger.com or greatschools.net There is one HS for the whole township, so everyone ends up there regardless of which elementary they were at. I have 2 kids in elementary; it's a nice school, but very little work is required. HW in 5th grade takes 10 minutes. Papers and reports are super easy and short. Never any readings assigned for vacations. On the other hand, kids are definitely not stressed over too much work. I'm still not sure if this is the best approach....

i know a few people with kids in old bridge schools. none of them are all too happy, especially with the high school.

i just did a quick google search of rocky creek and found a website showing the development to be priced between $600k to $700k. i personally would never pay this much to live in old bridge.

That NJ ranking was based not on Districts, but on just the High Schools in each town. Rocky Creek is a very nice development but the taxes are very high. Many people choose Old Bridge because it is a family friendly town that is centrally located. The schools are excellent from k-5, Salk, the middle school is good, while Sandburg is suffering. The high school is not good because there are too many kids in one school.
