Default Moving to NJ need help finding town

My husband and I are moving to NJ this spring and I am having a hard time finding information on the many different cities. I have lived in Alaska my whole life and am looking for a small, safe, family oriented, friendly town with good schools for our kids as close to Ventnor as possible. I am a country girl so I am looking to find a house with a little acreage. Not sure I am going to be able to handle all the cement, buildings, cars, people and the heat.
We are not rich, but not poor either. Thank you in advance for any advice you can share.

Cant help too much since I am from north jersey. But I can tell you that south jersey has alot of small towns and is still rural in spots. You could probably find the type of town you are looking for within a half hour or so of Ventnor City. However serious "acreage" might be harder to come by unless you go inland toward the pine barrens.

Good luck in your search.
