Totowa NJ to Manhattan NY
Hi,
I'm new to the area. A little bit further west than other postings I've seen. What would be the best way from Totowa NJ to Manhattan NY to enjoy the nightlife (besides driving into the city)?
Does anyone know of gypsy vans servicing this area?
Thanks!

you would have to drive to the path or to Wayne for the bus.

The only gypsy vans that service that area is Paterson-Clifton-Passaic, along Main St./Ave. As one person put it, you may have to take the NJ Transit Bus from Wayne.

As other postings have eluded, the main obstacle is that NJ transit coming back into NJ shuts down a bit too early (midnight-ish?).
Does anyone have further info re: the gypsy van service into Paterson-Clifton-Passaic? Where does it pickup in NJ, and where does it depart from NY?
Also, I'm on Union Blvd. in Totowa. How open would these gypsy vans be to negotiating (extra $2.50?) drop-off the next street over?
Thanks!

The bus will usually depart from 8th Ave and 41St. ( in front of the Times Building ). It usually stop running at about 1 AM. From there, it will make stops in Union City via Bergenline Ave. The it is off to Route 3, where it will make stops in Passaic Park, and finally Passaic, Clifton, and Paterson via Main Ave/ St.
W. Broadway will be the last stop in Paterson; that is a little ways from Union Ave.-even farther to Union Blvd., in Totowa. I wouldn't be there at night. Not for the fact that it is dangerous, but rather, it is very quite and desolate.
