Default Considering Leonia and Fort Lee

We currently live in an apartment in West New York and are considering buying a house in Bergen County

My BF works in Bergen Cty and I work in Manhattan. We're looking for a nice, quiet (I'm originally from NYC, so my definition of quiet isn't super-strict) town that is close to NYC, has good schools with solid college acceptance rates (but where parents and kids aren't overly programmed and stressed). Racial/ethnic/religious diversity is very important to us as well.

After some research, it looks like Leonia or Fort Lee might be good options.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Laura

We need some more information, please: what's your budget? How long a commute is tolerable?

Thanks. Here are some more details. Our budget is about $550k. 40-50 minutes into Manhattan (Midtown or GWB) or Rockleigh would be an ideal commute.

Great place to raise kids in, very close to GWB (A train), and easy access to all major highways

go ahead and move, if you find the home at the right price

It is not a stuck-up area, and very-outer boro-like

Lots of diversity: asians, and russian, hispanics, and white americans

Fort Lee and Leonia are perfect.

but to add a 3rd one, i would say Edgewater, which goes to the Leonia school for High School.
And Maybe Teaneck. But the property taxes are killer. The schools are decent. But its a diverse quaint town.
