Default Info on Park Place Townhomes in Avenel

I'm interested in the Park Place Townhomes located in Avenel. I've read some mixed reviews about Avenel in general, but does anyone have any specific thoughts or information about this housing community? I'm interested to hear about how the people in the Park Place community are, and whether there are any safety concerns. I greatly appreciate the input!

The park area of Avenel is OK, but be sure to check out the schools if you have kids- 4&5 used to be a good school, but I believe it's slipped a bit in the past few years.

Where are those town houses? Im guessing they are at the one end of the Park Place City Park is where the city sold off part of the park to a developer.

That used to be a very very bad area. Im talking way back. Back in the day when we never heard of gangs, that park was the home of a gang. Those of us who lived it such as my friend Bob in the above post might remember Dougies gang. Dougies gang...that dont sound too fearfull does it. Huh...what a simple name huh? Today gangs have fearfull sounding names. Those ***rds were the holy terror of Avenel. Today the vast majority of them are long since dead from drugs or whatever. I can still list the names all these years later.

Anyway Im not so sure I agree with Bob that Avenel 4&5 was ever considered a bad school. I served my time there for 6 years and dont remember a single bad incident except the oinkers chasing Dougies gang from the wall out front.

I believe much of that area you will find a lot of old timers. Many residents of that area are those who bought their first home in the 1960s and 70s and never left. Their kids are all long gone but they remained. Even the Junior High has closed it's doors due to so few kids. This may change as a newer generation of non American born who refuse to learn the official language of the United States who are having kids by the dozens who are filling Avenel 4&5 and maybe in a few years Avenel Jr High will once again hear the bells that I so hated.

In the old days you could walk to the Shop Right that was on that corner. It was the only grocery store for a 20 minute drive. Today you are close to everything there including the train station.

Dont be afraid of that area. It ain't too bad. I would be more concerned about living in a human filing cabinet they call townhomes or condos and the lack of privacy they offer.

I appreciate the feedback! The Park Place Townhomes are on Madaline Drive to be exact. I'm very surprised to hear that there used to be gangs in that part of Avenel! Great to hear that's not there anymore!

If there's anyone who happens to live in the development, I'd love to hear from you!
