I was born and raised in Rumson NJ and made the mistake of moving to Florida. I never realized how often that expression "what exit" was used until coming here. I have found myself asking it all the time when people are trying to tell me how to get to a particular place. Taking old road 70 to new road 60 isn't much help if you don't have a clue where the old one even is. I just say please tell me the exit. Old habits die hard.

Are there any community colleges or universities in the area? Hospitals? Malls near by? There must be since I was reading elsewhere that NJ is "mall capital."
I was born and raised in Monmouth County. After moving to Florida theres no place like home. Monmouth College is in Long Branch, NJ and then there is also Brookdale, Lincroft area. I would say that Tinton Falls is ideally situated. You have lots of public transportation, close to the beach and parkway and affordable housing.

BOJANNA is on a distinguished road
I live in Middlesex County - which includes Colonia, Piscataway, Edison, Woodbridge, East Brunswick, and Old Bridge...you can research rents, duplexes, two-family houses, and apartment complexes (readily available and reasonable). There is Middlesex County College as well as Rutgers State University. Hospitals include Robert Woods Johnson University Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital, and JFK Hospital and others. Generally, it is 45 minutes from the NJ shore areas.

Thanks for the vote, because I have been looking quite closely at Tinton Falls. Is Tinton part of Tinton Falls, or the other way around? I spoke with a real estate agent and she says ditto.

Tinton Falls is one in the same. I'm sure you'll get a great deal there because its located close to Fort Monmouth (which is suppose to close I think in 2011 (not exactly sure) so people are relocating to Maryland. Good Luck your going to love it.

People are moving because the local army base was givin its orders to close down. They are being relocated to Maryland to another Army base.
