Why my hometown is the greatest!
everyone is always boasting about how their hometown is the best in New Jersey. lets see what you've got to say about where your from. where are you from and why is it the best place in Jersey?
New Jersey has the most arrogant and self-glorifying people in the entire nation (don't worry, I'm from Jersey its all good. just a lil humor, I'm not trying to offend anyone). I know you guys can say something good.

actually, i'd say nyc, manhattan in particular, takes the cake for arrogance and self-glorification. not to mention pretentiousness and rudeness. new jerseyans can certainly be rude and blunt, but when you're constantly getting ragged on by people from the other side of the river (even the ones who've lived in the city for all of two seconds!), it's pretty hard to have a superiority complex. if anything, new jerseyans tend to be defensive about slights from outsiders and will not hesitate in voicing their displeasure when getting insulted with the typical array of jersey jokes by some smug clown like jay leno.
i say this as someone who has spent significant time living on both sides of the hudson.
btw, i know you said your comments in jest, and took them as such.
i just couldn't help taking a jab at the annoying nyc folks i've worked with and lived amongst since college.

Metuchen
Metuchen is filled with really great people who still treat neighbors in a neighborly fashion, a great downtown w/ a restaurant for just about every craving, good schools, great services w/ a friendly police department.... I could go on but don't want my pride and appreciation confused w/ arrogance or bragging.

Im from Lambertville. Live in Flemington now. I have to say Flemington is pretty great. Lots of everything and at least one of the pizza joints is really good. Going to CA for good within the next couple years and I miss the pizza already. The west coast just doesnt get it when it comes to pizza.

Nice!!!!!! I've said this before, but do you notice how it's always the most boring NYC types that have Jersey jokes? They have nothing interesting about themselves other than their address.
Just food for thought...................

I don't think my hometown is the greatest, at all. But it was (is) a good place to raise a family. Having lived in South Jersey, North Jersey, New York, and Phila., PA, I can definitely say that my current town is the best for me now. But, I am glad that my best friend is raising her daughter in the town that we both grew up in, it is a great place for kids! BTW, that's in South Jersey, a small town called Gibbsboro.

I'm in New Jersey and I don't even think of it as having towns, just endless suburbia...
