Tell me about Netcong
What is Netcong like? I'm interested in finding out more regarding:
Walkable "downtown" or business district?
Mix of families and DINKs?
Progressive/liberal or conservative?
Proximity to cultural events (i.e., concerts, theater, dance, museums, movies)?
Community events (fun things to do)?
Homes/apartments/condos ratio?
Most houses close together or have fairly good-sized lots?
Safety/crime?
Commuting to NYC?
Thanks!

Walkable "downtown" or business district? Not really
Mix of families and DINKs? Not sure what a DINK is.
Progressive/liberal or conservative? Don't know
Proximity to cultural events (i.e., concerts, theater, dance, museums, movies)? Netcong does have a theater called the Growing Stage. Not sure what goes on there.
Community events (fun things to do)? Not really
Homes/apartments/condos ratio? More homes than apts/condos.
Most houses close together or have fairly good-sized lots? Fairly close together for Western NJ
Safety/crime? Safe
Commuting to NYC? Train station right in the center of town.

LOL - I thought everyone on City-Data knew the term! Basically, as a childfree couple, Hubby & I get real tired of an overly family-oriented place. Gotta be a balance, so people without kids can find others to do stuff with.
So, how about any more opinions on my other questions?
And how do surrounding towns fare in answer to my questions, in comparison to Netcong? Funny, I grew up in Bergen County and never knew that any part of Morris County had a predominance of Italian-Americans!

I would say "conservative", Family oriented for the most part..few singles, not much of a night life, small lots (under 1/2 acre)... would not be my choice as a dink : ))) Have you checked out Boonton or Denville? Even Hackettstown?
