Sorry to hear that, I wish you the best. It's just suburban wasteland, I mean it's a nice town compared to the many ghettos in new jersey, but it's no Fort Lee, one of the few nice and bearable places in new jersey. I wish you the best. Why did you move?

I can't say I'm familiar with every little town in northern Bergen, but I was under the assumption that just about everything roughly north of Route 4 was more upper-class suburbs. I can't see Emerson honestly being THAT bad.

Emerson is not a death sentence. First off its got stores, main road Kinderkamack, Old Hook Road. Its near Westwood with a downtown and Hillsdale. You have a Kings in Hillsdale, a trader Joes in Westwood, Shop rite and stop and shop right in Emerson. Its gotten busy so I would not call this area a dead zone. I think you will adjust fine, the only difference I see is you will need a car, where as Fort Lee is a little more walkable. There is diversity in Emerson , stop worrying its not that quiet of the town. There is plenty of hustle and bustle just go walk Kinderkamack Road and you will see. I actually think you may like it better than Fort Lee given time. Plus your so close to Fort Lee just get over on 9W from Old Hook road and its close.

geez, you gotta love these alarmist posts by the OP. if i didn't know bergen county well, i'd be under the impression that emerson was like irvington or camden. or that garden state plaza was like an indoor skid row.
OP, you really need to stop worrying about every little thing. i know you're a teenager, but take a deep breath and relax. emerson is a perfectly fine town - nothing spectacular, but decent in every way imaginable. it's an older, solid middle class suburban town that's surrounded by mostly upper middle class areas and is close enough to some super affluent communities. there are trains and buses to hoboken/nyc and a respectable downtown area. schools are solid (but not on the level of the elite school districts in bergen county) and the people are more down-to-earth than in many other towns in northern BC. and it's not like you'll be all that far from fort lee anyways! you're acting like you're moving to the other side of the state, when in fact you'll only be about 20 minutes away from your hometown.
the main difference between emerson and fort lee is that your new town isn't nearly as diverse - fort lee is one of the asian (especially korean) strongholds in the entire nyc metro area, whereas in emerson, whites are the clear majority. to be fair, the asian and latino populations in emerson have been slowly increasing in recent years, so you won't feel totally out of place. you've said in previous posts that you're korean, right? you won't see as many fellow koreans in emerson but there's definitely a decent number of them in that town and in the pascack valley area in general; i even know of a few myself. you just won't be going to schools that are 50% asian like in fort lee.

teenager, ohhh your love emerson. Make some cool friends , hang out on Westwood ave, go to the RR tracks and ride your bike with friends great!!! You will be fine, making friends will come so easy being a teenage in Emerson. As far as Korean, fine, some in Westwood, alot in Closter as far as asian population, and some in Emerson. No shortage of Asians in those towns.

I dont know what your talking about, compared to Fort Lee, Emerson is way better than the urban setting your used to. I dont know what side of Fort Lee you lived on but Emerson like the rest of the Pascack Valley are normal upper middle class towns. You may not have the tall apartment complexes facing the Hudson, but you sure do have beautiful old colonial homes and a friendly neighborhood to enjoy living in. Its rated one of the safest towns in both Bergen County and northern nj!
