Quiet, Affordable Rentals Near Nature for a Writer
Hello,
Would anyone know of a good, quiet place for a writer to live alone in an affordable house to rent or buy with nature nearby, and where people courteously keep to themselves while being pretty friendly? A good place to bike or commute by bike?--though not as important. Maybe with used book stores or libraries near enough around? I would look for a local job; jobs of course are hard to find everywhere. My rental budget would be $500 to $1000, and though I'd prefer northern or northwestern NJ, statewide suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.

New Hope in PA
Lambertville on the Jersey side
Frenchtown
Stockton
All great little towns on the Delaware
I also stumbled on Reiglesville in PA...adorable little town! Take a drive down 611 on the PA side... tons of biking trails and small towns every couple of miles.

You didn't say but I assume you are looking for that quiet cabin so you can have a quite place to write.
In the mid to late 80s I used write for Outdoor Life, New Jersey Fisherman and the now defunct Fins and Feathers. I used to go to Sandy Hook and in the mid section where there was a small square parking lot if you walked to the wall of rocks and walked south, I would find a comfy cubby hole to sit in the rock crevaces with my pad and pen. The view was awesome. No one ever walked in that area. I was totally uninterupted.
In those days there was no computers. I wrote on a pad and when the article looked good I would take it home and type it on a typewriter or a word processer. Remember them?
That was my piece and quiet. The crashing waves provided wisdom, ideas, words, story titles as well as reflections of my own fishing experiences and the solitude of the ocean let me put ideas to paper.

It's hard to think of an area with nice nature, a town with books/library and bike-able that fits ur budget but im sure theres quite a few. Freehold area comes to mind.
