The plane didnt crash? So it landed where it wanted to?

Granted, it wasnt a major crash, but saying that this is an emergency landing is really downplaying the situation, and the resulting good news.

It was an emergency landing, but it was a crash. Like tallguy said, saying that it was just an emergency landing would indicate that it landed back on a runway or something. This was a crash landing, albeit a controlled one that did not end in death.

I hear there are some great golf clubs to be had at the bottom of the Hudson River. Anyone going for a dive?

Thank God everyone is okay!

I believe that they are planning on trying to get the plane out of the water so they can do an investigation.

The jet is being dragged somewhere to NJ or Staten Island. As it was going by my apartment, it was pretty much submerged except for the tail and left wing.

Great to hear everyone made it out OK.

what about the fuel? It just took off so the tanks were full.. I did not see any dams to round up the jet fuel on top of the water..
