If you have to get frozen pizza, Trader Joe's frozen pizzas are excellent, and a decent deal at about $4 each (they're not real big, maybe 12 oz. or so). I also like California Pizza Kitchen's frozen pizza, but they're about $7 each, and about the same size as the Trade Joe's pizzas.
Also, check to see that the pizza contains REAL cheese! Some frozen pizzas use "mozzarella cheese substitute" (whatever that is). I have permanently stopped buying some brands of frozen pizza because of this!

Grandma's Pie is a sicilian type of pie with lots of sauce on the top.
I don't know why people waste their money on chain pizza in this state. There are so many great Pizza Places.
I acually think store bought might be better then Dominos or Pizza Hut.
The only chain Pizza I ever enjoyed was Pizzaria Unos Chicago Pizza.
Some good places are:
Mario's in Maywood
Broadway Pizza in Northvale
Ray's in Closter
I love making my own Pizza because I can make it exactly how I feel like having it...

I never found good pizza in central or north Jersey. King of Pizza in Cherry Hill is the best I've had. Philly metro has better sloppy eats than parts north based on my experience.

The whole state? LOL I grew up in NEPA and there is a large Italian population; they have a tomato festival. The only problem was deciding what kind of pizza you wanted and where you were going to go that week.

Some good ones on this list. I used to go to Prince of Pizza a lot when I lived in JSQ. The pizza wasn't amazing (good enough), but the old man who runs the place is cool as hell. Has 3 Guys from Italy re-opened in their new location on the Blvd yet? If so I'll head up there tomorrow!
In downtown JC, I like Buon Apetito for the best slice or pie. Carmine's is good enough, but again I like it more for the "scene." The workers are friendly and if you stay long enough you'll see the whole JC police force go in and out of there. The couple who run Pino's on Newark Ave are great and fun to joke around with, and the 2nd floor terrace is cool, but their pizza is terrible.
Some of my favorite late-night drunk food is an enormous slice from Benny Tudino's in Hoboken. Also a late-night drunk food favorite is the place on the boardwalk in Manasquan near the Osprey. I have no idea if the pizza is good or not, but I've eaten quite a bit of it.
Mack & Mancos on the Boardwalk in Ocean City is good, but their two locations get so busy some nights that the quality of the pie suffers. There's another good place. I forget the name but it's around 10th & Bwalk.

i think it's harder NOT to get good pizza around here. I never had pizza when I travelled for work, so I never realized how good it is here. You always hear on these boards from natives living somewhere else, "The pizza SUCKS HERE!", and honestly it baffled me - how freaking hard is it to get a good slice?
WELLLL..................
This past summer we were on OBX and went to a local pizza joint one night. OMG, this stuff was INEDIBLE. Truly, truly horrible. I can't even tell you why, I've blocked the memory it was so bad. There were 12 of us in the place (that sat maybe 15) and we all (even the kids) were giving each other "WTF is this crap" eye..LOL.
So, now I know. There is no place in Northern, Central or Southern NJ that evens comes close to that nastiness.

Tried the rest? Now try the best!
In my opinion, Santillo's located on S. Broad St. in Elizabeth serves up the best of the best Neopolitan and Sicilian done in the old-fashioned brick oven.
Their thin crust Neopolitan is crispy and re-heats just as crispy. Their tomato sauce is a thick consistency, flavorful and crimson and might remind one of Italian "Sunday Gravy." Al applies the mozzarella consistantly over the entire pie - in other words, NO blobs of cheese. Santillo's meat toppings - sausage and pepperoni are supplied locally and are flavorful as well with enough per slice. Large pie is roughly 18".
Santillo's Sicilian is what a Sicilian pie should be - large and thick with a crispy bottom and an airy upper crust. Sauce and cheese applied as above.
Al also serves up a wicked (as in good) late 40's tomato pie (void of cheese).
Worthy of a check if you live in the eastern Union County area or are just passing through on US1&9 or NJ439.
