Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions. One question: what's the difference between a town and a township? NJ is the only state I know that uses the word township, and I am not familiar with what it is, and how there could be 2 places with the same name, except one has the word "township" after it. ??

I wrote a decently long reply to your post, but it may have disappeared into a black hole. It certainly didn't show up on the thread. I don't know much about computers, but I don't feel like taking the time and the risk to go through writing it all again. If you didn't get it, please call me at (314) 533-2339 or email me at archtexture@yahoo.com.

you wanna be near Short Hills (Millburn) ? try Madison. it's not the closest area, but it's not too far and its a nice town. it's got a little downtown area, it's a very walkable town with lots of sidewalks. great community!

Jonathan-
Thank you very much for your time and effort. I don't see your other reply either - I'm sorry it got lost. Darn computers!

For now I am going to put things on hold, but I did get a lot of great suggestions (thank you, everyone) that I will investigate further when the time comes.

Thanks again for your time.
