Default Littering While Driving

Today, while driving behind someone I watched them eating an orange and without any regard tossing the peels from their window as they drove along. It seems like I witness this type of littering every day to some degree by other drivers tossing all sorts of trash from their car windows. Half my relatives are Canadian and littering of any sort up there just isn't tolerated by the police or other drivers/citizens, but our highways and city streets are just filled with trash discarded out their windows by arrogant drivers. Is there anyone in this forum with authority or who has specific knowledge on how to successfully bring a complaint against these low lifes who feel they have the right to toss their trash into the streets while driving with apparent impunity ? I'm sick of seeing this type of behavior and lacking the ability to take some type of specific action that I know will result in action being taken against the offender.

I agree with you on littering, big pet peeve of mine. I can't stand to see all the trash on the sides of the highways.

However, orange peels and apple cores, as opposed to coffee cups and soda bottle at least are biodegradable.

Dog poo on my front yard and an empty beer bottle at the curb are my favorite things to find in the morning.

Orange peels??
i think the litter thing is ridiculous... people complain about how people litter so much but drive home in there toxic spewing car to there house that also littered the planet... theres no way out of the littering.

but throwing food or finding animal poop out on the ground actually isn't that bad.. throwing beer cans, boxes, paper, plastic, etc is a diffrent story.

So when you say littering, do you actually mean "making the area look messy"

Its attitudes like the above that have allowed littering to somehow become acceptable in this country.

I don't know why people are too lazy to find a garbage can or save it in their car and throw trash away when they get out. Not only does litter look awful but it brings unwanted pests.

When my Canadian relatives visit they are appalled at the amount of trash littering our highways.......theres something wrong with our culture that we give ourselves permission to toss our trash out the car window....who cares if some of it is biodegradeable.....its trash !!! If you wouldn't toss it out the window into your backyard what makes it acceptable to toss it out your car window. Its just not tolerated in Canada and many other countries....whats wrong with us as a culture that we allow this or make excuses that its ok to litter if its biodegradeable ? Is there anyone in authority reading this than can offer an avenue to file a complaint when this is observed.....and make it stick with some type of fine ???

Animal poop out on the ground actually isn't that bad...are you serious? Since you don't mind, post your address and invite all the dogs to your yard.

i have to admit to throwing apple cores out the window but i truely do it so some animal can benefit. i try to throw it in grass. and i do throw things like that out in my yard for the deer and the rabbits. especially in winter.

as for the other garbage, i wish everyone did what i do, keep a garbage can (tupperware) in the back of my car and empty it when i put out the garbage.
