So today driving to my moms new townhouse in Allentown to pickup the keys so she can move in on Monday. I've thought about what I'm going to do in 4-5 years when I graduate College and have to decide on a place to live.
Well today in order to get to PA we had to drive thru Jersey. At first I was like YUCK, and thought all the rumors where true until like 25 more minutes of driving when we got to some nice wooded highways. Then I started to see "hills", but to this Long Islander those where more like mountains. The state is beautiful. Plus its right in the middle of NY(where my family lives) and PA( where my mom and bros will be living). Couldn't ask for a more perfect location. Now if only the housing wasn't so expensive. lol
Just thought I would let you guys know that your state is beautiful.

thank you sir. Long Island is very nice too. I'm trying to pinpoint what area u were in when u started to realize the true beauty of NJ. I'm guessing you took 78 to get to Allentown?

yeah, my guess is he took goethals to tkpe to 78w to allentown. nice road to get a good view of what the state looks like.
I agree with you NJ over LI any day. It just offers so much more, and the beauty is breath taking. All I remember on the way back was we took the 22 then the 78. So I'm guessing the "hills" (more like mountains) come in around the 78? What towns are in this area?
People who have a bad rep about NJ need to spend more time in the Garden State.

I would say that the core parts of NJ I would equate to the east end of Long Island - lots of open space, and farmland. What's amazing is that there IS so much farmland left in NJ. And you wouldn't know it just by driving down the turnpike.

Yeah, I tried to figure it out. My guess is you were driving along the First Ridge of the Watchung Mountains along 78. You do get some nice views up along that ridge, it's really beautiful. You'd be around the towns of Summit, New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Mountainside.
