It'd be great if some of the local people could tell us few things about this town.
1. How safe it is relative to say Edgewater, Fort Lee, Ridgefield Park, etc.
2. Ways to get to NYC via mass transportation
3. Traffic during rush hour (I just got a job in Parsippany, NJ) because I'd be doing reverse commute.
4. Anything else you'd consider that'd be helpful!
Thank you for your time!

1) little ferry is a safe town for the most part. the only area that's a little bit sketchy is route 46, which serves as the boundary with south hackensack. that's because there are a bunch of sleazy motels along that strip that sometimes attract shady characters.
the rest of the town is comprised of quiet residential neighborhoods and some industrial areas on the margins.
overall, little ferry has more in common with ridgefield park than edgewater or fort lee. it's a blue collar, working class to middle class community that is not the most aesthetically pleasing, but is a decent enough place to start out.
if you have kids, though, you'll probably want to move up to a nicer town with better schools once they're of high school age.
2) nj transit's 161 and 165 buses provide service to the port authority bus terminal in midtown manhattan:
New Jersey Transit
there is also a train station in teterboro that's located just east of route 17 and just south of route 46 along the teterboro/hasbrouck heights boundary. to get there from little ferry, you'd have to take rt. 46 west to the green street exit. there is a very limited number of paid daily and monthly parking spots at the station.
3) traffic will be slow along routes 46 and 80 to parsippany during the morning commute. there are a lot of office parks in that area of nj, with many commuters driving from bergen and passaic counties. it'll take anywhere from 35 minutes to an hour to get to work, depending on traffic.
4) one concern about little ferry is that many parts of town, especially near the hackensack river and along route 46, have flooding problems during heavy rains.
