Default Cedar Grove, NJ- A beautiful town

I've always liked the town of Verona. It's a nice town with a little park and a nice little downtown area. I know a guy who's from the neighboring town of Cedar Grove, so when I was last in that area I decided to take a drive through on Route 23. I saw some of the most beautiful views when I was driving up along there. They're were gorgeous snow-covered mountains with the little trees.

My perception of Cedar Grove is that it is a very beautiful town with some of those nice views. It is also from what I understand, has a pretty decently sized Italian population, which I think it's pretty important to be in touch with your heritage. I like communities like that. From what I can tell both Cedar Grove and Verona are like that. Is this perception accurate?

If also anyone could tell me how schools are and stuff. I would also imagine the area is very safe, so I'm not worried about that. However, it's Essex County, and as much as I love Essex County, property taxes are ridiculous! Are the taxes in Cedar Grove and Verona as high as they are in let's say The Caldwells? Also, community is very important. Verona has a very nice park, are there any community gatherings there? Does Cedar Grove have anything similar?

Cedar Grove has relatively low taxes for Essex County. I lived there at one time, and really enjoyed the town. I'm not Italian, so I don't pay attention to that.

Cedar Grove is a very nice town with very good schools. It has an ideal location, snuggled between major highways, the mall and up the road from Montclair which has great restaurants and shopping. As far as taxes go...I looked at a house in cedar grove last year and was told by the realtor that the taxes there are supposed to get reassessed within the next year or two.
I'm sure like most essex county towns they will go up...how much who know. Maybe the town tax assesors office can tell you.

ah yes, but Essex Fells is predominantly an Irish town. it's also a very wealthy town. so it's pretty much the Essex County version of my current town in Morris County.

hahaha, nah man. the suburban life is the life for me. i need a home w/ a yard. i could never live in a city, and i certainly would not want to raise kids there. i had friends from the inner-city when I was growing up, all they do out there is smoke weed... everyday. it depressing.

Wow, you must have had a revelation from earlier. I remember when you first came on here you were full of **** and vinegar about the burbs and how they suck and how you can't wait to get out...

What happened?
