I am planning on a move to Mt Kisco and would be regularly commuting to Kenilworth NJ for work. Its about 62 miles and google map shows around 1 hr 10 mins drive. Is there anyone who takes this commute? I am little concerned about hitting traffic on the Tappan Zee Bridge and Garden state parkway during peak hours. Could my commute be longer than I am expecting (more than 1 hr 10 min)? Please help me with your advices on traffic.
I will also appreciate if you could let me know of any alternate transport I could possibly take. I did check metro north and NJ transit; there doesn't seem to be any through train to grand central from kenilworth. Thus, as of now I am thinking of just driving myself.
far and complete hell! Not only are you dealing with 287 and the Tappan Zee, just getting down to busy Keniworth especially on the GSP from 287 ohh my fun fun fun, in the morning is HELL!!! Why dont you move closer to NJ! I have a friend who lives in Passaic Park, NJ and commutes to Islein every weekday and she is not too thrilled, I cant imagine from Mount Kisco. I mean its one thing if you said Montvale, Nj but Kenilworth leave very early in the morning. This is a bad bad bad commute but on the flip side it can be done. Its a reverse commute over the TZ bridge thats a plus but still its tough.

yes it is going to take a lot longer than 1 hour and 10 minutes.
2 many different highways, there's always chances for slow traffic carwrecks and maybe 4 tolls roundtrip, try it first during the time u would be driving
I know Mt Kisco. I used to deliver things there many years ago. I now live just below Kenilworth. Trust me, you won't last a month doing that commute. Driving is your only thinkable option, and there are so many potential trouble spots: GSP, Tappan Zee, 287, Sprain or Saw Mill or Taconic Pkwys, or 684, you'll go out of your mind in no time at all. It's really not viable.
Don't forget the expense too. Lots of gas and tolls. You'll spend the better part of your life and income in the car.
