Alpine or Weehawken ???
Hi to all,
I have the Opportunity to buy a Property in either town.
Alpine or Weehawken.
My wife and I work in the City, and we want to have kids,
1.Which city do you think is better to raise kids????
2. The taxes are lower in Alpine then Weehawken, and we getter more for our value in Alpine.
3. Of course the only good thing about Weehawken, is that we are a bit closer to the city then Alpine, but the commute from Alpine is only 10 mins longer.
4. Do you know the Crime rate for each city, ( robbery, Car Stolen ) ???
The Property in Alpine is about $3 million, and the Property in Weehawken is about $2.7 million,
P.S. the Property in WEEHAWKEN is on Kingswood Road, which is overlooking the Hudson River, and the Most Luxurious Street on Weehawken....
SO Please give me your serious input which will you choose????
thank you so much

i'm laughing. my apologies if this is a serious post, but basically you're asking if you should buy in beverly hills or compton. LOL maybe not compton, but you get my drift.

LOL, no this is a serious Post......
Like I said, Weehawken is closer to the city, But in Alpine we bit more Square Feet for our money,
and to me it seems that kids could actually play on the street and we get a bigger backyard..

Good thing you're not throwing Irvington into the ring, or then we'd have an even more difficult choice. :-)

You're talking about two totally different lifestyles- one is affluent suburban, and one is semi-affluent urban. Of the two, I'd say Alpine is probably the better place to raise kids, but that's based on my opinion on what's a good environment for raising kids. If you can afford $3mil for a house, you can probably afford to send your kids to a great private academy, so that make Weehawkin more workable, but it's still about whether you want to live in a suburban atmosphere, with everything that brings, or in a more urban area.

there's Weehawken east of Blvd. East, and there's Weehawken west of Blvd. East...
he's talking about the former, which I would say is the better choice than Alpine.
a 10 minute commute from Alpine ? don't count on it -- 9W is a one lane road, and one mishap on the GWB = 1 hour commute.
if you use the ferrry out of Port Imperiale, you're golden...

Yes the Property on Weehawken is right by Blvd. East, which if you have friends and family, they could always take the Bus that runs 24 hours a day....
The thing about the weehawken property is that we get a view of NY city and the Hudson River...
and about the Alpine, is just very Residential No view....but is very quiet.....
TAXES for the house in Alpine, is $12,000.....and the house in Weehawken is $28,000.......
Remember Alpine has very low taxes because they don't have schools in their town....But yet again is the best town to live in or raise a family in the USA according to many Websites......GOOGLE it to see.....
thanks again.....
