Hi,

I have been looking at a few places in Bloomfield. However - I notice the trains do not run on the weekends. I did a few google searches and saw they are trying to make this a possibility.

Anyone know when this might happen? Also - Is the light rail a safe form of transportation to use since there are no trains? I am a female in her 20's.

If all else fails - where are some other train stations near by with overnight parking that i could use.

There have been rumors about the weekend service for years, so no matter what you hear, it's speculative. If you need to get to NYC, DeCamp bus lines runs on the weekends. Not one's favorite choice, but I've used it for quite some time and they do get you there Where do you need to get to? DeCamp has a web site so you can see the routes they run. I don't think the nearby trains/overnight parking thing is going to work for you -- most of those lots have long waiting lists and the closest in West Orange isn't probably going to make you jump for joy.

What's the commute to/from work in Manhattan like from North Bloomfield ?

Do commuters take buses / drive to the Amtrak ?

I know a few people that take the bus at the Clifton park n ride. Monthly spots are first come first serve for $25.00. I take an early bus 6 am and get into the port authority at 6:22 am. After 7 it will take you more then an 1/2hr. And the bus does run come on weekends. Good luck!

The light rail in bloomfield is very safe, pretty much on schedule and they come frequently.
