Colonia vs Kenilworth?
What are the pros and cons of each and if you had to choose one to buy a house and send kids to school which one would you select. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for getting back on this. I thought I would get a great response on this, but for some reason people hate my title.

I would go with Colonia schools. Though, I think you can't go wrong with either. Remember, Colonia is part of Woodbridge Township - Colonia is one of 9 towns in the township. Much bigger town. Alot more diversity in Colonia/Woodbridge than in Kenilworth. I'm familiar with both areas.
Maybe most people on here just aren't familiar with both areas to give you a better idea.

I do know Colonia is part of Woodbridge. Does Kenilworth get a bad rap for some reason? I like that small town feel that it has. The thing is Kenilworth homes seem to be much higher priced then Colonia homes.

It is hard to comp two towns that are so different. Kenilworth has an ideal location, Colonia has the better school system.

I'd go with Colonia as well. Still close to everything, yet a nicer town, just my opinion. It's all in what you like though.

Thanks for all the input. My question to anybody in the know is how do Kenilworth homes retain their value soo well? Is it simply because the the size of the towns and the limited housing?

I'm sorry, but where are you getting your information? Housing in Colonia is absolutely more expensive than in Kenilworth. I'd venture to say that the most expensive house in Colonia is probably 20% more than the most expensive house in Kenilworth. And real estate in Kenilworth is dropping the same as any other town in N.J. (I know, I live next door).
Kenilworth is a VERY blue collar town. Lots of cops, firemen, ironworkers, masons, etc. Colonia is much more white collar. Kenilworth schools aren't that great, but then again neither are Colonia schools, because it's part of the Woodbridge school district. The downtowns are about even. The ONLY thing I think Kenilworth has over Colonia is location. Your closer to NYC and are amongst nicer towns, while Colonia does boarder Avenel, Rahway, etc. The choice is yours, but I think Colonia is better than Kenilworth by a pretty good margin.

I respect all of your opinions. The thing is just due a quick search for about 500k to 400k and tell me what you can find in Kenilworth vs Colonia. The options are 100% better in Colonia.
