If you think that's bad... try telling people that your family is originally from "Flatbush"

where do these places in NY get there names. Some places in Queens have odd names like Flushing... also theres Ozone Park, Jamaica, and Kew Gardens... never really understood that.

I always like the name Ho-Ho-Kus. And I always wondered why there is an East, North, South, and New Brunswick, but not an Old or a West Brunswick.

i seemed to have skipped over a bunch of them right here in my home county of Morris. I neglected to mention Succasunna, a few people brought it up. I think also someone else mentioned Rockaway. Also Succasuna-Kenvil and that area, the way it's spelled it looks like the name of a pill, Advil. Shouldn't it be like Kenville? or something. i don't know, it's just something I noticed. also Butler, NJ. not Buttzville, but Butler. why would you name a town after some of a servant? it's kind of like "oh, this is James, my butler. he'll take your coat for you." .........why would you name a town after that?

the ironic thing about Intercourse is that intercourse is the last thing on people's minds there... a lot of Amish people.

Yes, they should get rid of that hyphen in "Wood-Ridge," and there shouldn't be both a "Wood-Ridge" and a "Woodbridge" in the same state.
