I don't know if this helps, but I am in NJ, and my final EUC II payment will be April 16. According to the blue card I got in the mail last week, I will get a packet in the mail a few days after that payment.
I don't know if anyone's seen this on NJ's unemployment website, but I found it after getting Google happy.
Department of Labor and Workforce Development | Extended Benefits (EB)
We will have to mail in a yellow form to Trenton, which begs the question of their manpower abilities to follow up on those forms.
The requirements will be stricter than now, but not unreasonable, and not invasive. The question is how much of a lag will there be between the last EUC II payment and the first EB payment?

Please Post Any New Information About GA!
I have not been able to find any new information about GA since this weekend. Do we have to wait until May 25 or is that the deadline until they have to have the program ready? My understanding was that May 25 was the latest we would have to wait. Please post any new information about GA on this forum that you come across!! THANK YOU!
I did read today that Minnesota is now receiving the next tier of extended benefits.

I spoke with Governor Perdue's office today and they referred me to Mike Coan. I called his office but they had no information on when it would be signed.
The act will become effective when it is signed, however, Michael Thurmond the labor commissioner can delay the implementation of Section 9 (the part about extended benefits) to May 25, 2009, if he decides that he can't get it rolling sooner. Here are some numbers that you can call to express the need to get the process moving.
Governor Perdue: 404-656-1776. Representative Mike Coan: 404-656-6801.
Michael Thurmond: 404-656-3011.

Does anyone know why some states have 13 and some 20 EB? Is it due to the unemployment rate?

During a period of high unemployment (6.5%) a state can trigger on for a maximum of 13 weeks of Extended Benefits. During a period of extremely high unemployment (8.0%) a state can trigger on for 20 weeks. Remember that states must have the T.U.R. or I.U.R. law in effect to be able to trigger on.
