I called in for the week ending April 11, 2009 yesterday. I was told at the end of the telephone call that that was the last week of my unemployment and there were no more benefits available to me. I should get my check by Saturday and hope I get a brown envelope with it. "Keeping fingers crossed for BROWN ENVELOPE"

I agree with you dchick, it is not clear at all and it makes no sense, but the way it reads under that paragraph Accepting and Applying for Suitable Work. It sounds to me and others that their definition and requirements for suitable work is through WorkforceNJ. If it is not listed with them it's not suitable work? and you won't get your EB check if you applied to or responded to a help wanted ad somewhere else? I'm going to call to check instead of guessing. I was hoping someone would know. Has anyone on here received a check yet? Let me look for the phone# and see what I can find out.
Thank You Again If I find anything out I will post

Bren in KentuckyKy governor signed an executive order to extend benefits to those who exhausted the 33 wks. If you haven't found work, call your rep at unemployment.

dchick,
I received my brown envelope yesterday with a claim date of 4/29 which means I had to mail the yellow slip on Friday which is impossible. So I am going to speak to UI tomorrow.
You must have have mailed the yellow slip on 4/24. what did you fill in the work search form ie under name, method of contact etc ? Can I use dice, monster etc ?. Can you give us one sample line:
thanks

ok here is what I did, and what is common sense. I received friday the brown paper. I filled out the yellow form, used jobs from the paper, craigslist, and you can used monster and other ways. I mailed it Saturday, not Friday because I did not get it until Friday late in the day so impossible to mail the first one NOTE FIRST ONE) on that day. I call in Wendsday for benefits. This is simple and lets hope all goes smooth wendsday.

I received the brown form on Saturday. I should have mailed the top yellow portion with jobs on Friday. But I am attending a pre-approved training and will be in this training until May 13. I am thinking I do not have to mail the top yellow portion but just have to file on Wednesday as I have been doing for the last 9 weeks. I will call today as I do not want to make a mikstake and receive no check. After I complete my training I will have to colplete the top portion. I will find out today and post the answer tomorrow.
ETA: I spoke with a woman at the One Stop Center in Pburg, NJ. I am supposed to write in the yellow portion that I am in an approved training and file as I have been since I started the training program. The program ends on May 13 and then Iwill have to fill the yellow portion in with job search information.
If any needs it the telephone number to speak with someone at the Phillipsburg, NJ One Stop Center is 908-859-3321. I think it took less than a minute to find the information I needed.

for jobs you apply with online what do you put on the yellow form for name. Do you list the email address of where you applied?

Carlianna,
I spoke to the Union Call Center. It took me around 40 min of waiting on the phone before I got hold of someone live.
He mentioned that the yellow slips (even though being mailed to trenton) are going to Fed Gov. So state doesnt care what you put. But he did mention that for jobs applied online,
a) For the "Name of the employer", I put the recruiter's company name or the client name if you know it.
b) For "Person or Website Contacted", you can provide the email address or website name.
