Red face commuting from Guttenberg or West NY to nyc

This may seem like a weird question, but I'm going to ask anyway. My husband has crohn's disease and I know there are no bathrooms in the commuter buses, but I was wondering if anyone does this bus commute and knows whether their are places and/or stores/restaurants etc along the way that have public restrooms just in case he would need to get off the bus. Thanks in advance for help with this sensitive issue.

If the bus travels on bergenline or kennedy, there are shops everywhere. It is an urban area, so the workers/owner might ***** at him if he doesn't buy something. If its blvd eat, there are not that many shops. The biggest issue with the logistical situation you are describing is that when traffic is bad, half of the commute is spent in the lincoln tunnel, so there is nowhere to go.

I don't know if the ferry has a bathroom, but that might be a good alternative.

There is a bathroom at the Port Authority. There is also a Gas station before you get into the tunnel from Blvd East. He could get off there and then get back on because I believe that is the last bus stop. But as someone said before, the problem is the traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel.

He'd have to get the NJTransit bus in because they go right into the Port Authority station without having to deal with all the other traffic the little jitney buses deal with once they are past the tunnel and there is a bathroom in the station. The NJtransit bus is faster and the jitney bus goes a lot slower down Blvd east waiting and looking for people to get on. It will also depend on what time he has to leave. If you have to travel before 8am I think it's better. Anytime after 8:30ish there will be even more traffic.
