Hudson County Birth Certificates.....
Anyone have any problems with the "Hudson County is so corrupt nearly a CENTURY of birth certificates issued there are invalid" issue? I have to get a new copy of mine and I'm not sure how to proceed. I sent for it once and got a letter saying I didn't exist. Gee, tell that to the IRS.....

Thanks Tahiti! I have my original too, but it's not worth the paper it's written on. Apparently it depended on the town and date issued.

That's interesting, I just had to go and renew my passport (it was really a new process since my old one was more than 5 yrs expired) and I provided my original HC birth cert and had no problem.

It's only for people who were born in Jersey City
Supposedly sometime after 1965 you should be ok but prior to that you have to get a certified one from the state and pay $25..that pizzes me off, they should waive that fee for anyone who has to now apply because of the crooks in JC
I've had a passport for decades and thank goodness when I renew i don't need a BC just send in the old passport

You will have to go to JC City Hall and apply in person. That was what my husband and brother-in-law had to do in Bayonne.
