$285 for the month, and we only moved in on the 11th... it was for the period between Jan 15 - February 19th.

Holy Hannah...

A year ago, the bill was only $200. Rates went up 12% this year, according to the person I spoke to on the phone.

3 things to lower your bill:

1. Programmable thermostat
2. Warm sweaters
3. A job that keeps you out of the house 12 hours a day.

My bill was only $167. I figured out that during the week my heat is only "on" for 4 hours each day. from 1 hour in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.

I do work out of the house. For the entire time that the bill was cycled, the thermastat was set to 66. And I refuse to be cold in my own house (and I was shivering at 66). So now it's set at 68 and I feel like I can function.
