Default Parking at NJ transit train station - Madison

Hi all,

The lady at the Madison train station told me about a company named Park-America which runs the parking service. I called them and checked out their webiste www.parkamerica.net. For the service they run, the only type of available parking is the daily slot one which is $2 per day. Does anybody know that how early do I need to get to the station to be able to get one of those daily parking slots?

Some other passenger at the station also told me about something like getting a yearly parking permit other than competing for the daily parking slot. Does anyone know where should I apply for the yearly parking permit? My apartment(Chantham Hills) is in Chatham instead of Madison although it is closer to the Madison station than the Chatham station. Will that be a problem for me to apply for a permit to park at the Madison station?

Or myabe I will have a better chance getting a permit at the Chatham station? How is the situation at the Chatham station? Do they have more parking space there?

Thanks!

I am pretty sure that you have to be a resident of Madison in order to apply for the yearly parking permit.

As for the daily parking, it can be a crapshoot, you have to get there very early (definitely before 7AM, probably before 630AM) to have a shot at getting a spot.

As for Chatham, I don't think it is much better, I read somewhere that there is a 4 year waiting list for yearly spots there
