Default Commute from Woodbridge/ Metuchen to Florham Park

Looking for some advice here,
I am relatively new to NJ and plan on moving to the Woodbridge/ Metuchen area apts soon.
My husband works in Manhattan, and I in Florham Park.
How is the commute from Woodbridge to Florham Park- GSP, 78 and then 24 during morning, evening rush hours. Is it 45 mins to an hour as the maps say or more bumper to bumper- 1.5 hour?
Also, is Woodbridge good for commuting to the city, if you only plan on using public transportation?

Thanks.

Metuchen is good for commuting to the city. Check the North east corridor line on NJ transit's web site.

Metuchen/woodbridge to Florham park could make you tired (morning and evening)... ... there are so many ways: one way Parkway to 78 and then Rt 24 and the other turnpike and then I78... a third thru Rt 287 (more miles) . Parkway / I78 is very challenging.

Woodbrige to city is also not bad (NJ coast line) may be more crowded in trains as you have people from shores commuting that way.
I ain't no expert on woodbridge ...check with local guys here.

i think that woodbridge to florham park could get long with traffic. what time do you need to be at work? woodbridge and/or metuchen are great if you're near the train station for the jersey coast line into ny. i'm thinking you may be getting the short end of the stick. 78 can get crazy, especially where it merges into 24 towards florham park. 287 is way out of the way. i'm in south plainfield and it takes me 30 minutes to get to short hills (the exit before florham park on 24) and that's during off hours. it's closer to 40-45 during peak.
i'd look in florham park to rent. there are lots of people with townhouses that are renting cause they can't sell and there are train lines in madison, chatham and convent station right to the city. i lived in florham park and it's a great town.
good luck!

I live in Woodbridge and commuted to Madison, close to Florham Park.

I avoided most of the parkway and 78 traffic. Took the GSP to Kenilworth, then local streets (Boulevard, Springfield Ave.) onto Morris Ave and route 124. You can then get on 24 past all the heavy traffic.

It still took about 40 minutes, but no traffic to speak of.
