Default Free $100 from Suze Orman

As an incentive for saving, Suze Orman is offering $100 to anyone who opens a free account and commits to monthly savings; after 1 year you get a free $100 deposit no obligations.

Suze Orman's Save Yourself Plan at TD AMERITRADE

It's a small gesture, but anything we can do to get America back on the track toward saving instead of spending is a step in the right direction.

I'd rather her give me the $100 to purchase her financial insight package being sold on the HSN or QVC-LOL. Am I the only one who thinks there's something a little sketcy about telling people to stop spending, but then turning around and presenting an expensive product to be bought that will change the way you handle your money? I like Suzie Orman...just seems a little hypocritical.

Well I agree with you there.

Skip buying any Orman stuff, just take advantage of the free $100.

You can check one of her books out from the library if you want more infomation on her. She's nothing spectacular, but does at least provide a voice of responsibility (save!) in this spendthrift culture we have become.

Not bad....10% interest rate on $1,000. Might open one for each of my kids.

Edit: Read it and you have to be over 18 to open.

Darn -- that would have been a good idea, and a nice way to get the kids excited about saving.
