Depends on the situation if buying for investment then BAD... for first home purchase then GOOD.

True. See, I've always viewed a home as a place to live, not an investment tool. So for me, does it matter that my home is not worth what it was 3 yrs ago? Not much. It is not "underwater" and I can swing it and if all goes well I'll live there a long while and sell and be ok.....

But Renting, in my opinion, can be highly underrated.
