Default Safety in area of Summit, NJ

Hello,

We are looking into the area of Summit, NJ that is on the corner of Park Avenue and Ashwood down the street from the train station. Does anyone have advice on the area as far as safety?

Thanks

i was born in Summit. It's a very nice and safe area, and it's within a good commute to the city. you can take the train directly into Penn Station.

I have a similar question. I'm also looking in the area because it's close to the train station. I already asked this in a separate thread about Madison, but what's it like living close to the train tracks? Are they below-grade in Summit? Are they loud when the train goes by?
