I never loved it but I liked it on a regular basis and it is missed. I never got into real salty foods until a few years ago. I bet I'd really like it now.

taylor, ham egg, and cheese on a bagel, english muffin, or long roll is tasty. It might be the salt content.

I was stationed in Philadelphia from 1972 to 1974. Never saw Taylor Ham being offered. I was too "scared" to try scrapple, the local favorite. But, MAN, there ain't nothing like a South Philly cheese steak!
As newly weds in 1973, me and the old lady rented the the third floor in a formerly one family row house in South Philly. It was a "rough around the edges" neighborhood, but still okay.
We were stationed in Lubbock, Texas, when "Rocky" came out. There's one scene with him jogging through an urban open air market street with vendors in dirty aprons and wood burning in 55 gallon drums. Totally accurate! We used to shop there for produce and whatever other bargain we could get. It was just 5 blocks from where we lived.
And we liked Philadelphia alot. But South Jersey and Philly wasn't the same as East Orange or the rest of that area. At least back then. Except for my Ma or my wife, no turkey dinner is ever been as good as a Jersey diner open faced sandwich covered in gravy.
I know I started with Taylor Ham; but let's be honest. No place on earth can match the onion rings in a Jersey diner, okay?

You are a cruel, cruel person, LOL!!!! (Even the fresh baked hard rolls in California won't stand up to a Jersey "Kaiser Roll"). They are good. Just not Jersey good.
As an aside, I try to make a facsimile of Italian Hot Dogs every now and again. Always have to use "Sub" rolls. To this day, I have never lived anywhere but New Jersey that has "Pizza Rolls". I can never pack the rolls with enough fried peppers, onions or potatoes to bring out the right effect.

Funny story. I went to a hotel restaurant near my job one morning and asked if they had pork roll. The girl said, "no, but we have kaiser rolls" .....
