Moderator cut: you can't cut and paste from a copyrighted source
^that's from the link that the OP posted. they picked out the most stereotypically jersey woman ever. "husband named Joe who does construction." seriously, they're just fueling the Jersey "Guido" stereotypes. a guy named Joe who does construction, that's about as stereotypical for Jersey as you can get. these a-holes are giving us a bad image, people all over the nation are going to laugh at us. absurd! "she spends most of her time at her house on the jersey shore."
and for Danielle, that phrase that they used "you either love me or hate me, there's no in between" is like that Jersey Girl attitude thing. i know so many guidette "Jersey" girls like that. ugh... this is gonna be awful
and for the first woman, Jackie Laurita. "former cosmotolegist." the stereotypes just keep coming.not only do they stereotype New Jersey, but there stereotyping Italians on that one too. every italian guidette Jersey girl wants to become a hair stylist and then they fail at it and become homemakers <-- that's the stereotype! and 4 out of 5 of them have Italian last names. Laurita is, Guidice is, and I think Manzo is too.
does anyone else agree about any of this? all of these stereotypes? it's ridiculous, isn't it?

OMG I can't believe someone a few posts ago thought some of the women on these shows were attractive! When I watch the Orange County one I'm frightened by the way those hags look. It's a freak show!

Yes, but that's the point...there is entertainment value in the ridiculousness of it all-at least for those of us who admit they find value in trash tv . Does anybody really think that ALL California housewives are like the five on the show...or the NY ones...or the Georgia one?? Of course not. The "Real" in Real Housewives is tongue in cheek...it's just a show.

Wow, I wish I could live in your world.
When these people come from NY, it's " those people are trashy". When it comes from NJ, it conveniently becomes " New Jersey is trashy".
You can thank your friends across the Hudson for that. Perception becomes reality. The media powers that be have done a good job of shaping our "reality".

I am definetly going to watch the show but NJ gets such a bad rap all the time as it is I'm afraid this show is just going to add to it.

LOL-Yes, but I know that what the media portrays is not always reality. I guess that's why I can enjoy the shows without reservation. I shut it off and go finish the laundry, play with my kids, and clean a bathroom. THAT 'reality' isn't sexy or interesting so it's not going to get on tv. I KNOW that. If other people don't and rely on the BRAVO channel for what reality is...well then they have bigger problems.
