Best Location to live Between Manahawkin,NJ and Cherry Hill,Nj
We are moving from Maryland to Jersey. My work would be in 2 locations Manahawkin and Cherry Hill split equally. I am looking for suggestions on a good town to live in which would be a convienent commute to both. We are a young professional couple, no kids.If you are aware of any good apartments in the town you recommend, we would appreciate.

Tabernacle area and west, Medford, Medford Lakes, Marlton/Evesham Township.
It's late, I won't elaborate now. Google those, they're all nice areas.

Sorry, I really can't give any recommendations from experience. I've rented a couple of town houses in Marlton, but that was some time ago. It has been discussed on this board...perhaps the search feature.
I hope that someone else will find this and save you.
Until then, have a look here:

Marlton is right next to Cherry Hill so it would be a drive to Manahawkin.
I would try Howell and Jackson. It would be an even split, imo...right off of 195.
I have an aunt who lives in Howell (we are going there tomorrow for dinner) and I would estimate it is about 50 minutes from Cherry Hill.

I just checked and there seems to be more privately owned houses, townhouses for rent in Medford than apartments. A couple of thoughts, check the local paper.
CourierPostOnline.com | Courier-Post | Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties news, community, entertainment, yellow pages and classifieds. Serving Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties, New Jersey
Call a realtor; Weichert is big around here as are Pat McKenna and Fox and Roach.
The rental market was really tight when I moved here in 1996. Our realtor convinced a townhome owner, on the market for a year, to rent to us and stop bleeding cash. Nice place; we lived there for six years.
There's some building going on just east of Medford along Route 70, condos and maybe some townhomes; they are probably for sale but you never know.

That would be out of the way for the OP.
From Cherry Hill to Manahawkin, the route is Route 70 then Route 72. Basically crossing into the NJ Pinelands.
After Cherry Hill, its Marlton, (big irritating circle), then its Medford. After Medford, one is pretty much out of the Philadelphia metro area, and its Route 70 into Ocean County, with a choice to veer to the southeast onto Route 72 to Long Beach Island, or continue on 70 and wind up in Central NJ/New York metro area with (732) area code numbers on billboards.
Regarding area codes, it was strange Medford ended up keeping 609, even though Evesham/Marlton is (856).
However, that being said, there are some differences between Cherry Hill and Marlton too even though they have adjacency. Marlton has the big circle. the OP will have to deal with it. Medford get more woodsy, and from Medford onwards, characterized by super Wawas and diners on the state highway, like a lot of South Jersey, but not much else. Lot of woods. The same is true going south on Route 73, though that area is more developed.

The circle is a roundabout at the intersection of Rt. 70 and Rt. 73. There's a lot of traffic on those roads and that intersection is usually quite congested; trying to merge, change lanes on that circle is a nightmare. Rt. 73 cuts straight through the middle, so there are traffic lights as well. That is precisely why I rarely go through there. There are plenty of other roads which bypass the area.
Mount Laurel Township is just north of Marlton and Medford, north of Rt. 70. It has been recommended to others who were looking for housing in the area. This board has a search feature; perhaps you can find something in previous posts.
A couple of miles east of Medford things thin out considerably. There's a 55+ community, housing developments, a smattering of businesses. There's no town of any size until you reach Manahawkin.

Interesting two locations. The unfortunate thing is that there isn't too much at all between them! Mostly the pine barrens and a few towns strung along in the middle that are a bit too hick-ish for me, personally.
I think you're going to have to choose to live closer to either Cherry Hill or Manahawkin.
Manahawkin: Close to the beach (Long Beach Island), lots of things to do such as boating, fishing, etc., tons of local stores and restaurants and close proximity to the island in the summer which triples the number of restaurants, bars, things to do. Taxes are generally low and crime is very low - the Ocean Acres section does have some drugs despite having very nice homes, however. Schools are good - not amazing - but still quite good. You'll be in Ocean County.
Cherry Hill: Higher income area, more of a traditional suburban location, excellent schools. Lots of stores and close to Philadelphia if you enjoy urban activities such as the arts, etc. A bit of a hike to the coast, less outdoor recreation and not as many bar/nightlife/dining options. A lot of chain type places, though there are local gems. Way closer to I-95 and I-295 if you're planning on visiting friends/relatives in Maryland often. Higher taxes and you're represented by some of the NJ's fat cat politicians which is never a good thing. You'll be in Camden County.
