Default Looking for a inexpensive Arborist/ Treecutter

I got a quote from a arborist for $1500 to cut an old tree in my backyard down.
I understand that there is no access for a large truck and somebody has to climb up in the tree and cut it down branch by branch and then carry it about 50 yards to the street. Its a large ( I guess 45 feet high) dying old tree that blocks the sunlight to my garden and leans toward the house, so it will have to come down.
I will definitely plant another tree in its place.
Anybody know a less expensive solution?

Inexpensive and treecutter do not belong in the same sentence.

I was thinking arborist and cheap don't go together
Get a bunch of estimates. You might find someone to do it for less. when I needed trees pruned, the estimates were all over the place.

I'd avoid people with the "A" word on their business card. About five years I had to find someone to take down a huge tree in my back yard, no truck access. I made a number of calls and could only find two tree service companies that would take the job; not everyone has a climber. I saved some money by doing the yard cleanup myself. They took all of the branches and rotten trunk sections and left the rest with us - my husband cut it up to use as firewood - that saved a little money as well. That cost about $800 dollars.

I could not agree more! Hence the reason I chose a "W" for my company name

just an FYI, not sure if this will help you in anyway. I have an oak and a maple in my back yard, both taller than my 2 story colonial. No truck access. Edison. I had gotten 4 quotes from different tree/contractor/landscaping guys Ive seen in the neighborhood. They all wanted about 3k each tree plus $325 to grind both stumps. $6325 which includes all cleanup. I would have jumped at $1500.
