Approx. Rent prices in Highland Park (Edison, New Brunswick: apartment, rentals, how much)

Does anybody know approx. how much a 2 BR apartment would rent for in Highland Park? I looked at CraigsList and was shocked that there were very few decent 2 BR's available for less than $1500 a month. Is it tough to find an affordable 2 BR in HP? What's the deal?

Highland park is a very expensive area to rent an apartment. Highland Park is tiny and a cute little town. A lot of people want to live there, which is why its so pricey. That sounds about right. If you want to find something a little more reasonable I would look into Edison, maybe certain areas of New Brunswick (but be careful of the neighborhoods) and certain complexes in Piscataway.

I don't know where you are from previously, but rent is expensive in this area surrounding Rutgers unless you look at the right complexes.

You can get a 2 bedroom for less than 1300 in Orchard Heights or Orchard Gardens, or there are also two homes listed on MLS that are renting two bedroom apt units for 1300 and 1050.

Thanks for the replies. Do you have the link on MLS? I only saw links to properties for purchase--I couldn't seem to find the rentals you were referring to in Orchard Gardens/Heights.
