Default nephew arrested in hoboken now what!!!

Hey just a quick question for anyone who has any idea on this stuff. My stupid ass 24 year old nephew got really wasted at a bar in hoboken got kicked out and went to a frat house where he knows a friend who said he could go there and crash being he could not drive home, well he gets there and they would'nt let him in for whatever reason. so he goes to the next house thinking its part of the frat house and get arrested for breaking and entering, robbery(he stole nothing)and assault.i guess he tried to get out when he realized he was in the wrong place and struggled with owner. now of course they set bail at 20,000 this was sunday in the am. we have no money to get him out. he has court today in jersey city courthouse.he's never been in trouble i know for a fact he would never rob anybody,he was just drunk and stupid. does anyone know what we are in for with a judge? this has never happened so im kinda new. oh and if your wondering where his parents are they left him and his sister 23 years ago and my mom and dad raised them. they are really great kids. he just made a dumb mistake.

call a bailbondsman... 10% of the bail amount is all you will have to pay in order to get him out - you can use a credit card. When he shows up for court, you'll get ti back. Then call for legal assistance if he doesn't already have an atty. assigned to his case.

this is either a troll job or he deserves what he gets

getting drunk will not make him break into someone's house, and yes, that is what he did, the fratboys told him no and he tried to get in another way at the wrong house

Get him a lawyer

i've know my nephew for 24 years and he would never rob anyone's house. as i said in my post he's never been in trouble before. he's a very respectful boy,i've never heard a curse word out of his mouth or ever talk back to anyone. he was drunk and was just looking for a place to sleep it off rather than attempt to drive 1 hour home. and we did speak with the person who was with him and who also left him there. and the person who he called to ask to go to frat house. i did not post for people to say he gets what he deserves im simply asking the process. thanks

He will go before the judge today and be informed of his rights, advised to get an attorney and if he can't afford one a public defender will be appointed to him. I suggest he take the Public Defender, and ask the judge to be released. (ror) Usually there is a 10% for the bail if they deny the ror. The Public Defender can ask for a Probable cause hearing. This will determine if all of the charges should apply.

i would talk to the homeowner if i was you. see if you could explain this all and apoligize. maybe he wont press charges???? Although if you mean he "struggled" with the owner as in fighting with him, then i doubt that would work

ALL kids get into trouble one way or another due to stupid mistakes. SOME get caught at it. SOME get it published on U-tube. Lighten up. I'm glad the kid has a supporting family to help him through this.

if it goes further after the first hearing, of course he will have to go back to court. One, get a lawyer two if he does not get a lawyer he will definately get probation. This will go down as Disorderly person charge on his record, he can ask for the PTI program with after one year of clean no trouble meet all conditions of probation will come off his record. However this is a misdemenor charge and will go on his record if he does not get a lawyer to help get him out of it, or on the PTI program.
