How about : boo hoo, I overpaid for a house I can't afford, and took out a home equity loan to buy a flat screen TV, and now I need the government and taxpayers to bail me out and pay my mortgage.
That's the financial responsibility of a three year-old.

Relax hunny. Not exactly sure who wants a bigger house here? If you fail to see how a large number of Americans are dumb I imagine you have failed to see whats gone on of late. I love to see people with big toys and then crying they can't afford them. Waahh Wahh Hunny.

Hmm. Is Glen Beck talking about this kind of stuff? I just read about him in the paper today. He's fueling people's anger these days. Kind of like those radio stations that encouraged the Hutu's to kill the Tutsi's in Rwanda ten years ago.

Yeah, because taxing the bonuses of Wall Street fat cats, and taxpayer anger about trillions of their dollars being spent to bail out failed financial institutions, is practically like, you know, genocide.
Let's try to maintain at least some sense of proportion, shall we?

That's what unbridled hatred turns into. Sadly it's happened too many times in the 20th century. But hey, it's entertaining, and more importantly, it make some people feel good, so go for it!
Populist demagogues are despicable.

The future is completely unknown. As those on 9/10/01 found out.

The future is not unknown. You don't need to have a crystal ball to understand that your average middle class family in NJ cannot afford the price tags that currently exist on your average middle class home. This is simple price determination through supply and demand. It just keeps going down until it finds the right price. The future is well known for plenty of situations when you have enough knowledge to elaborate the situation. If you jump out of a helicopter with no parachute, I can 100% guarantee that you will smack the ground really hard. There is no scenario where housing prices increase this year short of Barack Obama and Ben Bernanke printing out million dollar bills and distributing them in the streets.

Sad thing is that may happen.
Seriously though... Even if you look at ALL the efforts done by the government (bank bailouts, buyer credits, bringing down interest rates to historic lows) you still have house prices dropping in most markets across the country. That is not negative that is fact.
