Sorry to hear that this is causing such ill-feeling when I thought it was an interesting question, and, by the look of responses, a topic that others found interesting otherwise they would not have responded as they thought.
A problem with some of these threads is that we do not contextualize how we are discussing certain terms. For example, in the beginning, we may (as a group) have decided how we define "blue collar" and "working class" and how we will use those words in this thread. And I mean, how WE choose to define these words only in this discussion, not necessarily how it is defined elsewhere, in politics, by sociologists/other experts, in the media, etc. Also, unlike other areas of debate or intellectual exchange, we have no moderators--we act as moderators among ourselves.
I think it's great that such avenues exist to voice our opinions, whether we agree with them or not.
STrapani1105, don't ever let anyone think you're wrong for asking a question. I realize that you're young and what others are trying to do here is to assist you in framing your questions and responses in an intelligent and responsible way. Of course, I am not speaking for everyone, just as I have seen things developed so far.
BTW, if you're interested in majoring in Criminology in college, check out John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY in NYC. Nearby, affordable, and one of the best in the country. Their enrollment tripled after 911. Best of luck to you.
