Default Kinnelon / Smoke Rise area

Expanding our home search to this area....seems like a huge closter of homes sold here in the past 6 months...good? Bad? What is life like in these areas, schools? I see Lake Kinnelon offers summer activities as well.

Default Smoke Rise

It is off rt 23 deep in God's country. If your ever going to see a bobcat or black bear that be the neighborhood. Quick access to 287 from 23. Drove by Smoke Rise everyday and wondered what it was like. It is up on high ground or a mountain if you prefer. Butler is the next big town further east on rt 23. Craigmur ski resort is a bit further up the road and a bit south on 531? Newark Watershed has a bunch of glacial ponds and mountain trails 5 minutes up Macopin and Union Valley rds. Great trophy fishing and unsurpassed hiking. Vast open areas. Also see Norvin Green State forest. Greenwood Lake airport is 15 minutes or so just north of you. Top notch antique Auto restorer on the same route as Craigmur....Green Pond rd. Name of the place is Hibernia Auto Works?

Nice area really because you have easy access to all the roads that lead to east to the jobs and you definitely will have "wilderness" access.

Smoke Rise and Kinnelon as a whole is an expensive town. Nice area, but expensive.
