Default Weehawken / West New York

I am look at an apartment in each of these neighborhoods.. I don't know much about either of them, unfortunately. The one in Weehawken is on 48th right off of Boulevard East and the one in West NY is on Park Ave off of Boulevard East (near 61st) Now that I'm looking, they're not very far from each other! Either way, I'm considering moving in with my boyfriend.. I was wondering what the neighborhoods are like? We're not flamboyantly gay, but we don't want to have any problems. We'd be moving in with a girlfriend of ours. Just want to make sure we're not going to have problems, especially at night, when traveling home from Manhattan.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Boulevard East has always been a gay friendly area for as long as I could remember. I'd take Weehawken any day over West NY.

Weehawken will cost you more and they are close to each other. Commuting to NY from either one will be easy. I really don't think one is safer than the other. I've live in WNY most of my life and it's fine.

my partner and I are building a 6000 square foot house in weehawken on Hackensacp plank road breaking ground in 30 days. Weehawken is FARRRRRRRRR superior to any West New York, you will not have a problem.

We opted for weehawken over several suburbia towns and manhattan could not find what we wanted so we opted to build.
