Anyone from Union City/Jersey City area?
Just wondering if anyone is from the area. I'll be moving there in less than 2 months, but I am currently in Union City every day rennovating the new place anyway.
I don't know anyone from the area, but hoping to meet some (a lot of people in Union City don't seem my type), but I know that doesn't include everyone.
Im a 25yo male, work a lot, I like to go out, party, have fun, go to shows, snowboard, design. Pretty easy to get along with just about everyone. Even if its just networking and exploring the area to find some good location, eats, etc. Anyone else from the area?

Im on palisade near 6th, right by the yardly building! Im moving here from Clifton, and may either be bringing my german shepherd with me, or contemplating rescuing another dog that I like from the shelter. How long have you been there for?

Oh ok. Not that far actually. I love German sheperd's! What's his/her name? I have a pit named Tiguere and a corgi name Shortii. I've been living in UC for over a year now. Before that, I lived in Hawthorne.

Her name is Callie. Its not too far away at all, but when I finally move in and have my house warming party/bbq you two and your dogs are welcome to come out.
How do you like the area so far? Have you had any issues, or found any mentionable activities, shops, or places near by?

Cool, that'll be awesome. I like it but it has its good and its bad, like any other place. I like that there are a lot of places to shop and to eat, so its very convenient if you need something quick, you can always find it on bergenline. Parking is crazy, but you'll ge to know what time you will be able to find parking and when you can't. I think I'm about the only white girl in the town so I get a lot of stares and rude comments, but I'm a little used to that. I've picked up a lot of spanish just by walking around, and my husband is Dominican so I learned a little from him, even though I think I sound weird trying to speak it, so I basically don't do it a lot. Everyone is basically nice and I haven't had any major problems.

So far it seems good, I was living in Brooklyn for a bit, so this is a pretty good mix between the two areas ive been in. There are a few other white people by me. I haven't talked to them yet, but I see them walking around, and there are also some pretty expensive condos not far from me either (probably people from Hoboken moving backwards to save money). I think over the next few years this trend will continue.
Learning some spanish is next on my list, it seems like there are a few bodega's and stores where they don't even speak english.

There's a bodega by me where you can get rolls 4 for a dollar. They are so good too and I also go there when I'm in the mood for a snickers ice cream. Yum :-) There's a chinese place on Summit ave that's banging, I don't remember the name, but its by the KFC and the Dunkin Donuts. I def recommend them.

The chinese place by me is pretty good as well, but I have to venture out and try some other places. Im right by the bakery on palisade ave too, so I always get a nice whiff of some fresh bread.
