Hotel in Monmouth County
Can anyone suggest an inexpensive hotel in Monmouth County? I only need to stay a few nights and I need someplace clean and safe but nothing fancy. Thanks.

It doesn't matter. I can travel a little but the closer to Middletown the better. I was thinking of Fairbanks in Seabright or Holmdel Motor Inn. Does anyone know if they are clean and safe?

My suggestion would be to go to Priceline.com and bid for a room, you pick the area, amount of stars, and name a price. It will either reject or accept it. You will get the name of hotel after. They use hotels like Marriotts, Hiltons, major chains. I used it locally in NJ when my Oil tank remediation smell was so bad I could not take it. I got a really nice Courtyard by Marriot in Jamesburg for $55. To see hotel list for area----http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/topic/28206/t/NEW-JERSEY-HOTELS-LIST.html
This lists Priceline hotels and also Hotwire ones.
Also you can try Hotwire.com: Discount airfare, hotel reservations, car rentals, vacation packages and cruises , and it will give you prices and nuber of stars. You put what location you need.
A cheap hotel in NJ, also means a bad bed, but with these just the price is cheap , not the hotel. They are chain hotels.
If the Homdel Moter Inn is the same as it was, its not great. I think it was a Holiday Inn once, but they no longer allowed them to carry their name. I know Rt 35 and Rt 36 very well.

Thanks Diane, I'll check it out.
Irish Eyes, I've been on the site but that doesn't tell me enough if it's clean. I used to live down the street from there and ate in that Chinese restaurant next to it years ago but was never in the motel. I know it's old and not fance but it doesn't matter, I need cheap and clean. I forgot, I also need wireless internet so that in mind I might not have much options.

Thanks. Yeah, I ruled that one out. I'm going to stay at the Fairbanks in Seabright. It's cheap, on the water (not that it matters but nice) and close to everything I need. It's only $300 for seven days (in April), can't beat that. I can't wait to get my NJ/NYC fix! First stop, Portuguese food, second pizza. : )
