Don't forget the 800 Billion Bailout. Or the stupid stimulus package. Both democrats and republicans are set on spending our money. And how? They use the fed to print dollars at an incredible rate, thereby devaluing our hard earned dollars. So...after another 4 years of a big spender, our savings will be worth even less than it is today.

The more dollars in rotation, the less it is worth. Supply and demand.

So, it is time for a libertarian president that will reinstate the gold standard, slash spending and taxes, and kill off a lot of these agencies that are nothing but a waste of taxpayer's money.

Americans will not wake up, though. As evidenced by the election, they want a nanny state where they rely on the government to protect them from scary Arabs, feed their obese children, provide "free" medical care, and pay their mortgages.

Ugh.

Default Obama rocks

ProudCapMarine,

My husband is also in the military, I am a huge military supporter, and I ALSO support Obama. I have to respectfully disagree with the tea parties that are happening right now.

Yes, Obama is spending but he has no choice, he has to stimulate the economy or WE ALL LOSE. This is not a joke. People are losing their jobs left and right. My husband's brother just lost his job a couple of days ago. Luckily, his company was generous and he has a good severance package. He also will be benefitting from the extended unemployment benefits that Obama has instituted to get us through these rocky times.

For people that are well off, those things don't matter, but they ARE a critical safety net for someone, through no fault of their own, has lost their job because of the crisis we're in.

People are also losing their LIVES. Watch the news, it's craziness that is happening out there, shootings every day. People are hurting and they are struggling. Not everyone, mind you, is hurting- some folks are still doing mighty well, and God Bless them (except for AIG ) But there is some tremendous suffering going on right now.

I have complete faith in what Obama is doing.

Obama is also super popular with many in the miltary. Not everyone, you're still going to have the Republicans in the military, but did you see how he was received in Iraq? Rock Star status, no doubt about that.

The tea parties that are going on right now have NOTHING to do with their original intent during the Revolutionary War-which, as you know, was to protest "taxation without representation" from the British. Americans today, first of all, are no longer fighting to get independent from the British number one, and number two, we WERE represented- Obama was voted into office by a clear majority of the American people.

I think some folks nowadays are looking for a cause that they can protest, and that's a worthy goal. There's plenty of causes out there, but in my humble opinion, this ain't the one.

People in our "microwave society" expect instant results and that's not how it works. We are seeing some progress though, the stock market is going up slowly. There's lots of hiring going on in the government. Things will turn around slowly. It won't happen overnight.

I know not everyone is going to agree with everything Obama is doing- I certainly don't-but I have full faith that he's restoring America to its greatness again, I'm talking about the kind of greatness during WWII when America was looked upon as a TRUE LEADER that people looked up to.

"THAT ONE"

"OBAMA IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!! "

"PEACE OUT"

These "tea parties" are a by-product of the "ME ME ME!!! LOOK AT MEEEEE!!!!!!" society we've become. Simply being informed and voting accordingly is not enough to satisfy the egos of most folks today, so they have to stage so called "protests." The anonymity of the voting booth, while effective, provides no stage upon which to shout "LOOK AT WHAT I DID!!! HOORAY FOR ME!!!"

Sorry, big spending won't help. Obama is as stupid as Bush. Keynesian economics is a failure, and is why were are in the situation we are in now.

Lose the faith in the man that relies on a teleprompter and you'll feel more confident in your ability to do it yourself rather than rely on the nanny state government to hold your hand as you cross the street of a bad economy.

Also, when are the boys coming back from Iraq?

Tea Parties are an extention of Freedom Of Speech.

President Obama was (and still is) extremely out spoken about Bush's policies and said it was his patriotic duty to disagree with President Bush. I agree.

Tea Parties are doing the same thing now under Obama. I hope you don't want to stop these peoples Free Speech and their right to be Patriotic.

I agree -- just like the Cindy Sheehan phenomenon, it all started with a good idea, then took on a life of it's own.

No is advocating stopping anyone from speaking freely-we're merely pointing out that instead of holding silly parties people should be voting.

Voting doesn't always work if a majority of people are stupid. See Florida, and Chicago where dead people voted.
