Im excited I got the fire tower guy finally again!!!!! Yes its definately Bearford Fire tower. He works for NJ parks commission not the newark water company. There is a phone in the tower, and if you dont believe me call 973 697-5087!! He told me that last year 70 acres burned and there are fires !! That one last year started by some loser with a bbq. He also said there are now only 21 active used fire towers in NJ being used. The website says a lot more but it dated. I find this very interesting. Fire towers are a part of our past and history and its something you just dont associate nj with. I am so happy I got this guy. Imagine that is your full time job to sit and look for fires in a fire tower !! Well Im on the fire tower fact sheet!! Your lucky you got me on the case.

I've been to a few fire towers. This one, Apple Pie Hill, is probably the most 'famous' one in southern NJ. Where’s the fire? Life in the Lebanon Tower « THE NECESSITY FOR RUINS
