If you had to estimate what % of Jersians have the accent? I'd probably say around 10 - 15% if that considering that NJ is mostly made up of suburbs that have people who relocated because of jobs and immigrants from foreign countries.

I think it's hard to define Jersey Accent. There are a lot of accents going on here, but most fall either into the New York or Philly accent categories.... and there are still plenty of people who have either one of those.

I think it's how you pronounce your wrds, the rate of speech and how different words are used.

the jersey accent is just spillover from an NY accent. and in south jersey they get spillover from Philly. so really there's no original "Jersey" accent. it's just spillover.

I was raised in Hudon and Monmouth Counties and, granted, there are similarities between NJ/NYC/Philadelphia accents, but people have never put me in the NYC accent catagory.

yeah, I really don't know. to me it's the NY accent and it has different break-ups, like the Brooklyn accent, Long Island accent, North Jersey accent, etc.

...I do a killer Boston accent

NJ does not have an accent.
