Smile Please suggest a good place to open a new liquor store

Dear Jersians,
A friend of mine needs advice on the best location for starting a new liquor store in one of the following towns:

1. Woodbridge
2. Iselin
3. Colonia
4. Avenel
5. Fords
6. Hopelawn
7. Sewaren
8 Port Reading
9 Menlo Terrace

I really appreciate your feedback because of all the time he will save in driving thru each of the areas.
Thank you.

Love.

the liquor stores that are right next to grocery stores which dont sell alcohol seem to do very well.

he has to first see if there any liquor licenses available in the town he picks.

and I agree with GiantRutgersfan, I'd also add -- any location near a gas station

And, any location in a college town, preferably one with a "party" school. When I went to Rutgers, the liquor stores in the areas were literally packed every night.

Each of those areas are going to have their own issues to deal with, especially in trying to find a liquor license and the type of liquor stocked.

If you aren't on a main street with a parking lot or in a shopping center, it's going to be a tough go.

+1. I know the Shop Rite on St. Gorges in Woodbridge doesn't have a liquor store attached, but I don't know if there are any store fronts available. The Wegman's in Woodbrige also does not have a liquor store attached. I don't know if this is because there are no licenses available.

Yes and no. The biggest issue is carding of the customers. It's a PITA to have to not only watch the customers, but the staff too, to make sure nobody is letting things slide.

Thanks friends.
He already got a license from the woodbridge township.

I heard that they now have a liquor store near shoprite on st Georges.

I do know that in some Costcos they do sell liquors, I wonder if its being managed by an independent vendor.
Umm, could ask him to inquire in Wegman. Appears that that place is doing good. I mean it used to be one of my favourite place to shop.
I don't remember if I saw wine being sold there.

I also don't think there is a university in those towns mentioned . Would have been great if the retail shop was near one such palce.

Hehe...I wish many people had storefront in their homes.
Just as I wish they had their own independent sources of energy - like solar , wind etc ...

Can you imagine -- no need to pay taxes to the MFK government.
