Default West Milford Area

I have been looking at few houses on realtor.com that are in the West Milford area. It seems much more inexpensive that other parts of NJ.
Does anyone know why?

Probably because it's a bit off the beaten track.
Not much around. I think I also read that there
is a bit of white supremacist/Aryan group activity
there.

I'd like to see an article or something that says there is aryan activity in the West Milford area. I've never heard of that being any sort of problem before.

I have lived here for 5 years and have NEVER experienced such a thing as white supremacist/Aryan group activity in this are.
West Milford may be a bit less expensive because it is off the beaten track yet what most people don't realize how accessable it is to NYC. We are in the process of relocating in May and will be putting our lake house on the market...yes very reasonably priced.

KKK in West Milford?? I've never heard that either... Belvidere maybe or even Oxford but West Milford?? You may want to look in Jefferson Twp. - Oakridge, Milton, etc. Pricing about the same but closer to major highways such as Rt. 23, Rt. 15 and Rt. 80..

taxes are sky high in West Milford and Ringwood!!!!! I first started to look off Route 23 and ruled passaic county out, the taxes were crazy on a cheap small houses Then went off Route 23 to Morris County and found quite a difference in taxes much lower. I think also inventory is so high in West Milford right now, I think there is a Hillybilly mentality, me hunt, me fish, me ride 4 wheeler but I hear that is all changing in West Milford. I also been told school system is good. I just hated the taxes. They have not been re assessed and its coming so watch out!!!

So true, taxes are high, yet that is because of low industry due to the areas reserved for watershed property. So we do have less congestion and more green spaces. I also hear our schools are great although I don't have children. Last, yes Morris county is an alternative, but if you need to commute into NYC, and many of us do, you may be adding quite a bit of time to the trip.
