Well, I am as outraged as anyone with the bank bailouts. I wish we had a president man enough to simply take over these banks with all that money, dismantle them and sell the good parts. We would easily break even that way without all the costs. It is sad that a president is afraid to be called socialist and not go that way.

i don't know about the highways you use, but in this part of the country that is definitely needed.

why are you outraged? because the government is responsible for all this irresponsible lending? the government is the reason why we are in this depression? does that outrage you? and then your solution is to allow the government to get even more involved in the business that they ruined???? doesnt make sense to me. the government has done a good job of fingerpointing at the banks but what bank would have been making those loans with 0% down and no income or credit check unless the government via GSE's werent guaranteeing the debt?

thats what gas taxes and tolls are for. the problem is that the money is spread around wastefully and the construction costs about 10 times what it should cost when government is involved.

nice one. easy to see where you stand.

it is sad to see so many people like yourself and where your priorities lie.

well you have to bring me some evidence about the inefficiencies that is going on right now. the stimulus is probably the most transparent government spending ever. check out the recovery.gov webpage. Each and every agency has detailed spending numbers for each and every project that is approved.

Work to begin on infamous Route 287/80 interchange - NJ.com

Ticketing would have been so 2008. Instead, let's accommodate unsafe drivers who go barreling around a sharp turn at 80 miles/hour. Our cost? A small sum of 15.5 million dollars.

Newsmax.com - Stimulus Repaves Roads – For $25 Million Per Mile

how about paying $25 million per mile to repave roads? transparency is worthless when you have the people who do the wasting overseeing the spending. your government stooges protect each other so that they can each waste all the money they possibly can. thats why senator stevens said something to effect of "if you attack my wasteful projects, ill go after yours" when he was being investigated. that isnt just what they do, its what they see as their job. wasting our money.

my priorities lie with the american people and our freedom from oppressive government. i think we know best how to spend our money and not government. what barack osama (and bush before him) are doing is basically going into your bank account, taking out a loan and a bunch of credit card debt, spending it for their cronies who charge 10x what things cost and leaving you to pay it back.

I am concerned about going from a $4 trillion deficit which was awful to a $14 trillion deficit which is incredibly bad. How can we possibly pay this back. With an up turn in the economy a $4 trillion deficit could be erased. It would not be possible to improve the economy enough to pay $14 trillion. I know there are some who think quadrupling the deficit is the only way out yet it defies logic. Try doing this with your own finances and see where it gets you.

And you know what, it would be much more fun and informative if we all could engage in a cordial debate. Your question was confrontational at best. If you really want to know why someone who has a different view than you do, asking in a straight forward manor is much more effective. If your goal is to be provocative continue asking questions like that and get into shouting matches with people go ahead. If you want an honest and fun debate don't be so confrontational.
